New Year New Art!

February 8, 2012

Started teaching collage again at ArtSquare this month and the energy of the class is always inspiring!  Am dusting off my paintbrushes for a show that I am having in Oct.  I’m not going to spill the beans but I will say that its going to be refreshing to get some paint under my fingernails again.  As always working away at creating digital collages…a few pieces of eye candy.

Its Almost Winter!!

November 7, 2011

I’ve been busy working on digital art….even exploring some new territory with making my own videos!!!

Teaching classes each Monday is always quite an inspiration as well.  If you are interested in opening the door to your creativity join me Monday mornings at Art Square at 10am for Creative Encaustic Collage.

Holiday season is rapidly approaching and art makes a fantastic gift.  Sure beats the same old ties or perfume we get every year right?  Come on over to Art Square to find a beautiful gift for that someone special!!!!!

Lastly I can’t leave my viewers with no eye candy…..here are some digital collages that are ‘hot off the presses’.

Busy busy busy!

Busy making art, working at Art Square and taking care of my family in between. My work can now be seen in a fantastic new furniture store in Middleburg VA called The Plank & Nickel. Each original piece of furniture has been hand created from using local found wood. Check out their web site for more information….Plank & Nickel.com.

And now for some eye candy…..been working mostly digitally lately and having a blast!

Surrealism is a bourgeois disaffection; that its militants thought it universal is only one of the signs that it is typically bourgeois.

“We do not wish to imitate nature, we do not wish to reproduce. We want to produce. We want to produce the way a plant produces its fruit, not depict. We want to produce directly, not indirectly. Since there is not a trace of abstraction in this art we call it concrete art.”
—Hans Arp

The taste for quotations (and for the juxtaposition of incongruous quotations) is a Surrealist taste.
